EMDR also helped me greatly early on. Another thing that helps is learning to think of it as uncomfortable energy showing up in your body. You can even learn to work with the energy. Example - Rating it from 1 to 10 on a scale with 10 being the most intense and 1 being the least. Noticing where the energy shows up and what the sensation feels like. You are not your thoughts and you don't have to believe them. There's much more for those who are ready for that path to healing. It's worked wonders for me. Let me know if you're interested in more information on this stuff. Hope you find some relief, I know it really sucks going through this stuff. 💙

I started EMDR once I got diagnosed with C-PTSD (also started because of dissociation, but that doesn’t exactly relate to this). This might sound generic but whilst in an environment or whilst experiencing those triggers I do deep breathing, get into a fetal position (if possible for pressure that could help keep calm), as well as I cover my ears. It is most important to address why you have PTSD and try to combat that with your coping mechanisms during an episode. <3 Stay safe and stay healthy, all love. -Celeste (DID host alter)
