Anybody with ME/CFS found anything that helps them with weight loss? I've been big all my life, I managed to lose some weight in my teens, but that was only through active addiction. I seem to just be getting bigger and bigger, and when I diet and deficit my calories I find I lose a stone or so and it stops. Because I'm not able to be very mobile I can't exercise. I just can't live being this big anymore. It's making my depression worse and I can only manage one illness at a time!

I too am in the same boat :-( I've struggled pretty much my whole adult life but it got way worse once the diagnoses started piling on. I find that walking in the evenings helps me stay at least somewhat active. Just before the pandemic hit I got certified in holistic nutrition and decided to try going for a more plant-based diet. I wasn't 100%, but I found that trying to avoid heavily processed foods, corn, and gluten did have the biggest impact on weight loss that I had had in a while. I lost 10 pounds in about month and a half and wasn't doing any physical activity aside from walking. Unfortunately, it came back due to stress and flare ups and just not being in a great place mentally but it went to show that certain foods can definitely have a huge impact on weight management! I hope that helps some ❤️

@Emariearts it really does thank you for taking the time to respond ❤️
I'm in similar boat, it's annoying as I have no appetite, I have to force myself to eat a rivets a day (it's been that way over 6months) but I'm not loosing any weight. Hate how I look
@Pain_Warrior89 Gp just doesn't care
@Pain_Warrior89 they always just turn around and say we'll you need to improve your diet. I don't think they understand how difficult it is for us to eat healthy all the time, or consistently, or anything at all sometimes. I'm opposite to you in that I am always hungry, I could eat myself out of house and home if I let it happen. But I try to make healthy choices and cook as often as possible. And then when you ask for weight loss meds they won't do it because you've not stuck to a healthy diet. It's difficult. I hope you find something that helps ❤️
Years ago, I was being told more and more what I couldn't physically but kept gaining weight which was increasing my pain. I had tried for years to lose weight with no success. The only thing that ended up working for me was keto. I know there's a lot of mixed feelings about it, but when my neurologist for my brain injury said that was pretty much a brain healthy diet that he would have recommended, it made me feel okay with it. All I know is that sugar and sodium really fuel my inflammation. I was able to lose a healthy amount of weight and I have maintained it by doing low carb and sugar free most of the time. Every body is different. I included intermittent fasting when I needed a boost. I am now able to light strength train and do yoga. Good luck to you all. The struggle is difficult on the mind

@Princessmommy6 thank you for this. I have considered keto but I struggle with restricting things completely. I had eating disorders in my teens and so taking my comfort foods away from myself can cause relapses as sometimes I feel safer eating things I know ill enjoy even though its not the best for me calorie wise. I think I'm going to go back to slimming world as I know I can carry syns over and enjoy things I like as long as I deficit other days, and falling off the wagon isn't as easy as I can still eat carby foods in moderation. If this doesn't work I'm going to do more research into keto and just try and be careful and kind to myself. Your information is really helpful, thank you
I'm struggling I'm in the same boat as you
@poodlelover28 hopefully someone has some good advice soon ❤️
i was about to post something similar, i’m trying to lose weight right now and finding it very hard. i also have pots
@indiaa I think I may also have POTS but I'm struggling to figure out how to ask for it to be investigated. My doctors seem to think I want all the illnesses under the sun but really I just want answers as to whether what I'm suffering with is all ME related or if there's something else affecting me. Hopefully someone has had luck finding a good weight loss plan and it being something they're able to stick to!
Eager to see the responses! I'm in the same boat 😥
@RosiettaGlow hopefully someone has some good advice ❤️
