I get migraines and neck pain, I feel like the neck pain triggers a migraine and the neck pain/ migraines get worse when I sleep/ take a nap. I feel hopeless, like I've tried everything for the pain but nothing seems to help. I feel like I'm living in one huge migraine episode, like the pain never stops, can anyone relate?

I am in the same boat. Very much still learning. I feel like the trial and error is going to make it worse before it's better. Basically for me, chasing down my migraines related to neck issues led to a fibromyalgia diagnosis. Then fibro treatments. Then discovering the connection between neck and shoulder fibro and cervicogenic headaches. Most recently I did physical therapy for my neck. I am mixed about it. It did help somewhat but also I have discovered that ANY strain on my neck, even very gentle physical therapy, and I am in a world of headache hurt for a very long time. It makes scared to try and strengthen my neck at all. So, basically, I am getting insight into the problem but not much or a solution to it yet.

Have you tried chiropractor? It helped my daughter relieve some pain.

@TTLOTA I've had to go to the chiropractor twice a week since February when I hit a deer with my car on my way home from work. It was helping so much because I got whiplash and hurt my back.

That used to happen to me. Started meds and also started going to see an acupuncturist! It’s helped me a lot

I put an ice pack on the back of my neck and a heat pack on my hands. It helps a lot with neck pain related migraines

@Jen0925 dude! I got to my chiropractor who does acupuncture but the method they use on me is called dry needling. It is the single most effective tension headache busting treatment I have ever tried. Hands down. I feel like if I get a good batch of needles in my neck, shoulders, and head, I have very few tension headaches for 2 weeks following. This reminds me I need to get back in actually.

I also get something similar, however mine are more headaches. I just saw a new neurologist the other day and she said it was a big word I don't remember (lol), but basically a C headache I guess. It starts at the nerve in the back and makes its way up to the eyebrows. Not sure if that's what I have but the neck/shoulder pain definitely trigger me. Only things I've found to alleviate the pain somewhat are massages and ice. She did mention shots or physical therapy as treatment but I've already done those. Hope you can find something that works for you soon. 🙂
