I feel so frustrated. Eating healthy seems hard. I was raised without support - emotionally and intellectually. So I'm literally learning on the fly. Everything sugary takes priority with me. That feel good hug from a sugary snack is hard not to go for. In comparison to say, a cut up mini cucumber. I don't reinforce things, good habits for myself and I find that looking up recipes is overwhelming. Especially being type two diabetic. Life is rough! Help?

It's not as hard as you think if you break it down. Make two lists, a list of food that will help your conditions and a list of foods that worsen your conditions. When you make your shopping list and food plans consult these lists. Don't change everything once. Consider only your drinks the first time. Find 3-5 things that fit your diet that you might enjoy. Next time 3-5 others until you fine healthy drinks you know and trust to be healthy and replace whatever unhealthy drinks you currently use. After that focus on breakfast. Just breakfast until you have several things you both enjoy and fit your lifestyle. Then lunch, then dinner, then dessert, then snacks. If you dive straight in you'll be overwhelmed. A small change you maintain is more effective then all the large ones you don't. Once you find healthy foods you like to replace the foods you eat and where to get them it becomes quick and easy. Plus there are simple changes to make cooking at home for 1 quick and easy.

I follow a lot of holistic and naturopath people on social media and you tube them I write notes and key points and then I go look up and research those points.

The key is moderation… and when you find out what refined sugar is really doing to your body it will better your relationship with the sweets. Research on my own helped me, the doctors don’t seem to tell you everything, just enough for them justify a prescription.

@Savanahp how did you do your research? What helped you in that process.
