I'm a Type 1 diabetic and deaf but nobody decides to learn asl or even just the letters for sign they always say "Well you can talk" yeah I can but they don't realize is I don't currently pronounce words and it just hurts me to talk.
People don’t really understand. Because we can’t hear the words we say, we pronounce them wrong. I try to explain, and some people do understand but a lot don’t care
