I've had worsening pain and a plethora of other symptoms for the past 13 years. It seems like my condition has drastically declined over the past year or so. I feel like I won't be able to function as a working member of the population much longer, but also feel like I'm overreacting because I technically can make it through work days, even if it's difficult. I should just apply for disability, but I feel lazy and selfish for even considering it. But I need to guarantee a steady income with my health. Anyone else been through this mess of emotions?
Your emotions are totally valid! Even though you can make it through the day doesn’t mean you should have to battle your way through the day! You should not have to fight to live on a daily basis. If you feel like getting on disability will allow you to live your life to a greater capacity, do it.
