it's hard to keep up with my insulin or remembering to take it (mind due to depression I don't really care to take it) and my SO gets mad and says that I need to be more responsible and I just didn't want to take it....I mean I guess he is right but he doesn't understand no matter how many time I let him know how I'm feeling or why I didn't or even if it's just that I forgot to take it sometimes I forget when we are running out to his buddies house (almost 45 minutes away) and he gets mad that he will have to leave and I feel as a punishment he makes me wait to leave so I deal with me being sick....what do I do

i have been in the place of not taking insulin before. it is really tough to stay on top of it, even after having to live with t1d for most of my life. i dont know if you use pens, or a pump, but i find that my alarms on my pump always work. i also have a tandem, so the tubing is almost constantly a reminder of it. take care of yourself, it will take time, and even i personally still am not great with staying on top of my insulin until my bg spikes later. it will take time and practice, and your s/o should help to support you during this time. :)

u should never feel guilty about how u take care of urself. people don’t understand how easy it is just like.. not give urself insulin. when ur in certain situations it’s in the back of ur mind. and with depression, remembering to take insulin is rlly hard. when i’m depressed it’s just a struggle to want to get up and eat and giving myself insulin is the last thing I want to do. maybe if u have a schedule that u follow u could set reminders or alarms to give urself insulin however much time before you eat or even ask ur partner to remind u! at the end of the day you only have one body and you gotta take care of it.
