I was also low on iron. I have had 4 iron infusions and now my iron is at a good level. I get my bloodwork done once a month to have it checked

Are you taking other supplements? Or drinking green team, turmeric, or coffee? I heard that those can cause your body to not absorb iron.

I am at the point were I have to take iron supplements three times a day now. I'm also doing 4 rounds of iron infusions. I take b12 as well. My body cant absorb the iron. Why I take iron supplements 3 times a day and have iron infusions. It's no fun.

@Arabelle its worth a look! i took oral iron and b12 for years with no improvement in my numbers and this was why, such a huge difference when i was able to get b12 shots and iron infusions.

this happened to me and we found out eventually that i have a stomach condition that limits my absorption of iron in my gut. now i go for iron infusions every 2 years instead... maybe something similar?

@sparklebudgie how the iron infusions work for you? I've heard they could be quite dangerous... I need one badly buy I'm chickening out so far

@Rausha they have all been fine and totally uneventful. i go in once a week for 5 weeks. it takes about 15 min for the infusion then i stay for 30 min after to be monitored for any reaction. never had any issues at all

@sparklebudgie how he they figure that out?

@Arabelle 30 years of unexplained nausea and finally found a gastro willing to do an endoscopy, they found my stomach destroyed and did a bunch of biopsies and tested for certain antibodies against my stomach cells.
