Most of the time at school I don't eat but when I get home I can't stop overeating and I don't know what to do about it. I feel horrible about it because I don't know how to stop this has been going on for years. I just don't know what to do and I need so advice on how I can fix it

How about each night before you go to bed you pack something to eat in your bag. I find it easier to make my breakfast the night before instead of trying to make something while I'm getting ready for the day.

I struggled with this for a long time, it turns out for me that it was caused by depression. During school I could distract from the depression and I couldn't eat but at home there would be no distractions, try adding activities to your life to fill up your time and if you do eat try to make it a full balance, a protein and a carb, that'll make it to where when you do eat to much that your body still gets use from it.

i saw that you said that you eat in a teachers room— that’s what i do, as well. ask a trusted teacher if you can eat in their room during lunch and pack food in your bag the night before so that you don’t have to go to the cafeteria! i’d also recommend talking with your guidance counselors (if they’re nice) about your anxiety. they may be able to help you out (ex letting you leave class early so you could go to the cafeteria before everyone gets there, etc) i wish u so much luck on ur journey ❤️

I used to eat in the hallway instead of the lunch room.

I had the same problem in school. Eat a little at school, even just a small snack. I chew sugar free mint gum because it gets me through the day but you might need something like a small bag of chips or candy, just something small or even a meal if you feel up for it. Then when you get home, try to cut out snacking. If you think "Can i eat an apple right now?" And the answer is yes, youre hungry, if not then try to distract yourself. Again, chewing gum is useful for this. If you aren't hungry and you just aren't feeling full, drink some water, it might help ease the feeling that youre hungry. When you get hungry, be conscious about how much you're eating. Portion control is important. Lastly, if you can, setting up a schedule to eat at the same times every day can help because your body will come to expect to eat at the same time every day when it gets adjusted to the schedule you've set up.

I would try to eat at school even in small amounts or possibly even a protein shake in a bottle. The body takes a while to understand that you've eaten so you could just be stuffing yourself because you're overly hungry and your body hasn't caught up with the fact that you've eaten

@Hannibal during school I don't even go to the lunchroom so I'm hardly around food during school

It’s likely the fact you feel uncomfortable in school and home is a safe space. It’s a biological thing that we don’t eat in places we don’t feel safe in, even if it’s a mental unsafeness. I don’t mean this in a rude way, Are you in therapy at all? It may help to figure out why this happens.

@CinderLorel no I'm not in therapy but in the future I might go to it. I have to wait until I move out of parents house.

I'm the exact same way. I recommend just eating at school if you are able to! I know it's hard, but it will help so much because then you won't be as hungry when you get home.

@SincerelyNature during lunch I don't even go to the cafeteria I get too anxious in there and I just stay in my teacher classroom
