Hey everyone. I have ADHD and have kinda recently been having more depression stuff. I started Zoloft yesterday, and I’m wondering if any of you have had good experiences with it? I am a little worried that it won’t work or that it will make things worse somehow so I’d love to hear positive experiences or tips to make it better. Thanks!<3

Thank you all for the messages! It has only been 15 days but I’ve had very minimal side effects of drowsiness and some vision stuff, and I feel like it is helping already! Hopefully it will keep working the same! I hope you are all doing well!❤️❤️❤️

I personally have had a good experience with Zoloft! One thing i will say though is that it will absolutely kill your sex drive, if you are of age and sexually active. That said, i didn't even notice it was an issue until i started on testosterone. So take that with a grain of salt, i guess! It really just depends on what feels right for you. There was a slight adjustment period for me, but it was short in comparison to other meds I've taken.

Zoloft was my third medication prescribed to me after my sa. I didn’t find that it really helped, but everyone is different. As long as you’re not noticing any serious issues or trying to conceive. You should be alright. Bestest luck to you! 😊

it depends on your neurological chemistry. some medications don't work for some, some medications only help a little, & some medications are the perfect match! it's all trial & error. i hope it works for you!!! :)

My doctor switched me to Zoloft after trying 2 other meds that gave me bad side effects. It definitely worked for me, and while I was on it, I don’t really remember much of an adjustment period or any side effects that I had to work through when I first started taking it. The transition was pretty smooth.
I’ve never taken Zoloft but i’ve been stable on Prozac for 4 years and it’s similar in some ways. The first two weeks or so I did feel worse, but after that I felt so much better. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s like your brain and body need time to adjust to the new medication. Once I “adjusted” everything sort of just clicked. I have a couple of friends on Zoloft who had similar experiences. Finding the right medication and dose can be tricky, but I encourage you to keep trying! Once you find what works best for you, it’s so worth the process.
Zoloft helped me a lot the first few years after my depression dx, but after I wanna say 6(?)ish years it started to wear off. I’ve been on several antidepressants and mood stabilizers and nothing worked quite as well as zoloft did. I also experienced 0 side effects which is always a good thing.
I have taken Zoloft before and it did help me for awhile. I never had a negative reaction with it, i only went off of it because my body seems to like to resist certain medications after awhile. I know people that do well on that medication too so i think it will be at the very least okay and i believe helpful for you. Side note, if no one has told you about it, i recommend gene testing to match you with good medications. That's really helped me find my medications
