Does anyone know if seizure alert dogs are helpful for PNES? I had two literally back to back this afternoon and I’m nervous about that since I didn’t feel them coming on at all. No one could tell either because my seizures are non-convulsive, unless it causes full body paralysis since then it looks like I had a stroke. I don’t really know what to do anymore hence the question about the alert dogs
I have a service dog for them yes. Which she is my household pet, she still alerts me. They can sense the stress build up and tend to try and get you into a situation less stressful. I could not feel them for a while but that is because my body seemingly had the instant reaction to seize. Dogs can be trained farther into detail for your specific needs. My dog alerts others and lays with me so im not alone. And non convulsing seizures are just catatonic meaning you don't move at all. I have been dealing with PNES for over 2 years now so if you need someone to talk to I am here
thank you, that would be really helpful if you don’t mind. I just got diagnosed in November so I’m still learning about what the hel is happening with my body. Thank you for the info about the service dog, I may look into it more
