Does anybody else struggle with gym anxiety? I haven’t been to the gym since covid started 2 years ago but I want to start working out again. my problem is the whole time i’m there i’m more concerned what other people think about me than just doing a workout and the anticipation of being unfit going to the gym stresses me out. does anyone have any tips or struggle with the same thing?

I work at a gym and i can tell you no one cares about you lol. They're all in their own heads with usually similar anxiety trying to make sure they look cool. Or they're focused on their own work out. Or on themselves in the mirror. Lol. There are certainly some very serious douchebags out there on the floor, but you'll get used to them. They're basically just oversized toddlers.

@cocopufflab logically I know this my anxiety just makes me feel like everyone is judging me 24/7 no matter where i’m at lol i’ve never had a bad experience at a gym I just can’t get over that hump lol

@packersfan95 ha yeah. But having worked with many people in a gym setting, i can tell you, everyone has that same anxiety. Once you get used to the resting gym faces, you'll forget it was ever an issue. Lol. Omg. It seems like so much of what we have to do just requires doing it. Like there's no way around that part lol. Unfortunately.

I can relate. What @joo said are some great suggestions. I find that there are a lot of great bodyweight workouts on youtube you can do at home. But if you're looking to use equipment, perhaps go to a gym at a less busy hour

Or try working out at home or somewhere besides gym? Like a stretch room in the gym or the mat. Etc... Or have ur gym buddies?

I feel u. Maybe it can be overstimulating. Try finding less crowded gym or time when its less crowded..? Playing music that makes u feel safer does help.i play gospel music for that reason..
