I’ve had depression since 2015 and I take 100mg of zoloft and 75mg of lamictal daily but I still feel sad and depressed all the time. I pay my psychiatrist every month just so I can tell her I still feel sad and she increases the dosage by a little bit but it still doesn’t work. Should I just accept the fact that I’ll be depressed my whole life? I don’t have trust in professional mental health services

^^ there’s no reason to go in asking specifically for one medication, because medications work differently for different people. celexa could work great for one person and very well make things worse for another. so, i don’t know if your doctor explained this to you, but you have to increase the dosage of lamictal verrrry slowly because of a rare but potentially fatal side effect. it usually doesn’t start actually working until around 100mg and sometimes not until higher than that. so it could definitely start working for you once you’re on a higher dosage. now, it might be time to switch antidepressants if you don’t think the zoloft is working. BUT, you never want to make two medication changes at once. so it might be worthwhile to go up more on the lamictal, see if it helps, then talk to your doctor about switching to something bother than zoloft if you’re still feeling bad.

You need a new dr asap. Ask for Celexa only.
For about two months
how long have you been taking the lamictal?
