I started using my cane again but now my wrist is hurting even with my wrist brace, I don’t have it with me currently. My mom doesn’t want to get forearm crutches until we talk to my doctor and my appointment is in the end of June. (and that forearm crutches are for people with cerebral palsy only??) I already know what he’d say, exactly what he said about my cane (that I only have pain because I’m using it and not getting my hips stronger??) Which I get sometimes, but I’m tired of waiting on a miracle. I know what works for my body and mobility aids are exactly that, if only my parents and doctors could see that. I took my doctors advice and stopped using my cane for 3 weeks and now guess what? I have knee pain! Money isn’t an issue, I am willing to put $80 down for crutches if it meant that I won’t be in pain 24/7. Sometimes I feel like just ordering them so I can just get them but I know my parents would kill me because of it. I’m stuck in a cycle: Use cane -> prevent knee and hip pain -> get wrist pain -> don’t use cane -> try and make it through the day -> in pain -> repeat.

I use forearm crutches and all the I have is knee pain! My doctor didn’t want me to “get dependent” on them but they help me sooo much. If you’re pain is anything like mine you might be able to ween yourself off of them. I did that once. I’m back on them but that’s besides the point. If you ever need help looking for crutches dm me!
Really I have seen people who don’t have cerebral palsy use them and sometimes our dr don’t no what’s best for us I think you should take care of yourself despite what others think and if the mobility aids help your quality of life they will see that just find out what’s going to work best for all the pain
