Is there anyone currently being medicated for idiopathic hypersomnia? I haven't been formally diagnosed but I've done thorough research and I have a lot of the symptoms. Nothing's been working for me, and I want to be able to sleep well šŸ˜“

I'm on Adderall for wakefulness. I'm still sluggish, but at least I'm awake. I've tried tons of things for sleep, but nothing works. Trazodone worked for a short period and then stopped being affective. Sorry I can't be of better help.

I take Armodafanil and just like BeeBeeBean said it was life changing! For the first time in idk how long I wasn't tired. It does kill my appetite and after a year I had to increase the dosage a lot, but I can't function without it. Highly recommend!

I'm currently on daytrana, which is a topical stimulant patch that's put on you when you're asleep. It helps me wake up and stay awake. It's been used to help narcolepsy and adhd.

Iā€™m on Adderall for both ADD and idiopathic hypersomnia and fatigue. It makes my anxiety a bit worse and kills my appetite, but the side effects have been worth it for me! You also might want to talk to your doctor about trying Nuvigil or Provigil, as some people find that helpful for improving wakefulness.

The first day I tried my Armodafinil I cried because it's was like I was a brand new person- it was a pain in the a** to get because many insurances don't cover it for idiopathic hypersomnia, but if you can I'd definitely recommend bc it changed my life
