Since I can’t find any studies on it, I wanted to see if anyone else had the same issues I have had. I tested positive for COVID in July 2021. I have always had issues with indigestion, acid reflux, and constipation. After I was over COVID, my acid reflux became an every meal thing and sometimes with liquids. It didn’t matter what I ate or if I changed my diet. If I tried every prescription they threw at me. And now I’m to the point of having surgery to correct it. So, my two questions are did COVID make your GERDS worse and has anyone ever had surgery to try and remedy their acid reflux!?

Could you possibly have H.Pylori? I hate that Covid messes with so many things and the uncertainty with it. Best of luck!

Didn’t tie it into Covid but def maybe! It’s been worse this past year and got Covid 12/20 so def could be. Interesting! Makes sense cuz it messed up my diabetes too.

I've been having those issues after covid as well and I have been trying to get in to see my gastroenterologist, I have had little luck. But yes even water irritates my GERD and it sometimes make me cry. But I keep pushing forward because I have hope there is something out there to help.

Oh wow! I am hoping mine doesn’t get worse. I have covid right now. I take dexilant and Pepcid daily for the past few years.

This happened to me! My nausea and acid got much worse after I had covid in March of last year!

I had covid in November 2020 and was lucky that it was very mild for me. I've had digestive issues most of my life, first had heartburn when I was 11 and within the past year or so it's gotten worse, going from having to take lansoprazole only during my period to everyday. There are some days where the lansoprazole isn't enough, but I don't think it's related to having had covid. Probably falls in the same category as the people who got over covid but then still couldn't smell, taste, or even worse are getting rotten scent from their food.
