is there any methods you have tried to help an eating disorder that have worked positively?

For me, starting with the foods I already loved and going from there helped me massively. The treatment program I was at was very flexible about my diet, and it helped me recover

It really differs from person to person. Journaling and support from family has helped me the most. Plus treating my Bipolar so now I’m more mentally stable and had the space to recover. Intuitive eating is what’s kept me recovered over the years, being so flexible with food is great I feel so free. It’s hard to summarise everything into a comment as there is a lot that can help - from workbooks, to support groups to therapy. Again everyone is different, you can do this!

@Alice1111 I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I don’t think that’s the healthiest way to go about it honestly. Getting better should be based on you wanting what’s best for yourself and not depending on other people for for that validation. That person can’t always be there for you 100% we’re all only human. It also wouldn’t be fair to put that burden on someone else. Imagine being the sole reason someone is making progress with their ED, that’s a lot of pressure and would eventually strain the relationship. @milohuttonn The best thing to do (depending on the severity of ED) is go to therapy or an inpatient treatment and use that support system. You’ll have doctors, other people going through what you’re going through, and a whole team of people helping you, that way if one person falls through there’s others to help, and the responsibility isn’t solely on one person. In therapy they will help you decide what the best way to go about treating your specific ED is. Everyone is different so the treatment that worked for me may not work for everyone but keep trying! ❤️ feel free to dm anytime
