For anyone that has PCOS and has low progesterone, does taking an antidepressant help or are there vitamins I can take to help my body produce more? šŸ’•

I was diagnosed with PCOS almost a year ago and Iā€™m trying to treat myself naturally and avoid birth control. I did a lot of research and now Iā€™m taking Crinone capsules which contains progesterone and try to eat Vitamin B-6 and zinc containing foods which are claimed to help the body increase progesterone production. I eat a lot of chickpeas, tuna, spinach, bananas, cashew, almonds and shellfish. Iā€™m still trying and not sure how helpful will it be just felt like sharingšŸ™‚

I had a hormonal iud but then it was creating large actual cysts, not just the ones you get with pcos and it was making my acne worse and my anxiety/depression.

Progesterone is a hormone that your body produces naturally. If it's not producing as much as it should be, you need hormone medication (birth control). An IUD is a very good option for AFAB (assigned female at birth) that have PCOS. šŸ’•
