Hi everyone! I'm new here and would love to join this community. I've been really rough the past few years, and especially the last few weeks. Does anyone have experience with ending therapy after not seeing improvements? Did you see a new therapist afterward? Did you focus on other activities? (ex. excercise, meditation, etc.) Did you go to a doctor? I've been going back and forth on this because my heart is telling me to do something, but my brain keeps saying I'm not worth it. Thanks!

If you don't click, it's best to find someone else. Therapy works when you have a real connection, and if that's missing then it's worth it to look for someone who you want to share these things about your life with. Also, you gotta be doing the work outside therapy. Which usually involves those activities you mentioned! Keep working at it, but if you feel like you don't need to be seeing someone, then only you can make that judgment call.

I WISH I was back in therapy

I’ve been seeing the same therapist since I was 14 and I’m 24 now. So she’s literally watched me grow up and been through SO much with me. Her and I have our ups and downs and I’ve had those “is it even worth it” thoughts at times. Have you read reviews on your therapist to see what others have to say?
I've been going to therapy since I was in the forth grade. I'm not going to lie to you and say it will get better, because the honest truth is therapy is not for everyone. I'm still going to therapy (I'm 23 now) and been on and off. Going to a doctor will probably tell you to keep trying, send you to a psychiatrist, and give you medicine. As for the exercise, do something you enjoy doing and hope you can get into some what of a good mood.
