I have a patch of psoriasis that goes across the top of my forehead and into my hair, I am very prone to picking at that one patch when I am stressed out, bored, and anxious. I want to stop the picking but that also gives me anxiety because I’ve been doing it for so long. I’m tired of my forehead always being red, irritated and sore from the picking. Any tips?

whenever i have acrylics or fake nails i can’t pick so i have to get out of the habit and then i usually don’t pick for a while even after i take them off. i’ve only been able to stop picking all together when the plaque goes away- not sure if youve seen a dermatologist or been prescribed a topical

@aries02 I’ve been prescribed clobetasol propionate for my psoriasis. I have a liquid that I can use on my scalp and then a cream for other areas on my skin. I used to use it quite a bit but when it’s used on the scalp it lightens your skin. So I’ve tried to not use it bc my scalp has basically turned white. The cream I use sometimes but also try not to use it often bc it is a steroid & I just don’t want that in my system a whole lot. I’ve also noticed that acrylic nails stop me from picking, but my job makes it hard to have anything other than short nails though😭

My palms and the soles of my feet are currently covered and constantly itchy 😞 does your patch itch? Or do you just pick at it? The only way I can keep myself from picking/scratching my spots is to soak and scrub the plaques off, and then moisturize it as soon as I get out of the shower, before it dries out. Keep a heavy moisturizer or cream on it as much as I possibly can. Maybe use something thick so that if you pick at it it noticeably gets on your hands/under your fingernails. That's what I have to do to keep from picking - doing my best to remove everything I can possibly pick at. I hope you find relief!!

@Phoenix22 My forehead doesn’t itch too much usually though my scalp gets really itchy at times and I will scratch til I bleed sometimes. I will definitely try putting something on it though! Would like vaseline or aquaphor work?
