Just got a liver transplant less than 2 weeks ago. I’m in so much pain and my stomach feels so tight that’s it’s hard to take all my pills and still have room for food. I’m worried my pain won’t go away anytime soon and I’m just worried I’m not gunna feel OK. I can’t take this much longer . I’m walking around my house but nothing crazy. Any advice for healing faster or feeling better?

Pain for me went away after a few days but it can last longer. If its unbearable id reach out to your surgeon. I wouldnt worry about eating too much too soon because your appetite will probably sky rocket after a lot of the healing is over. There are a ton of pills at first...it really does feel like a meal! But everything in the beginning can take a while because they have to see how your body is reacting to the new liver all all the new drugs. I thought a year after mine everything would be stable but im still on med i hoped id be weaned off of many months ago but they couldnt because my enzyme levels went up every time they tried to lower it and a biopsy revealed i was facing mild rejection. So hang in there but it may be a bumpy road. The pain should certainly get better soon though. Have you tried any teas? Peppermint tea is supposed to be really good for the stomach. Congratulations on your transplant!

@Havah thank you . I’m now back in the hospital for high blood sugar levels cause I have a weird pancreas too. I thought getting a new liver would be great but so far recovery sucks and is one of the worst times. Still have pain, I just want to be home and well. But I don’t think that’s happening.
