(sorry its alot)

Lots of therapy has helped me. Do not be afraid to talk to them. If it’s to hard to put it into words write it down and hand it to them, they might be able to come out with a way to bring it up or work on something to help with it. Ab ice pack to face when emotions are too much, the contrast of temps helps regulate and distract you mind. Reaching out to people who are safe to vent and talk too. Squishing and reframing the bad thoughts into something more healthily. Aromatherapy, baths, calming music, getting out of where I am to help distract myself. Worksheets to write out what’s on your mind, what you’re feeling about it, what you can do about it, and what will happen if you don’t (emotional regulation worksheets? Some are cloud blubbers others ina triangle shape) those sheets can help figure out what to door what’s bothering you the most.

@Nesta i am in therapy but i never really talk especially because I hate talking to them in person and would rather write things down and also i just am not the best at talking about things and I bottle things up. and also i try to hide how I truly feel.

@harmonie I get that. I’ve had a very hard time expressing stuff into words and talking to therapists. And I still bottle things up. Writing stuff out and handing it to my therapist really helped me. So did the worksheets that my therapist could look at and emotion wheels where I would name 3 emotions I was trying express. Not saying it would work for you but helped me a lot.

same here, I got diagnosed with Narcolepsy so basically hypersomnia + insomnia. I still haven't found anything to help much but knowing the cause of my symptoms helps guide me in the right direction at least

I'd recommend talking to whoever prescribed the insomnia meds on maybe adjusting it? I know taking melotonin and the like can be rough because your body becomes more dependent on them to get sleepy. Definitely overall something to bring up to a professional and hopefully they'll have some answers for you

@Lightswitch yea i hope bc i went to talk to someone about having my depression meds adjusted and they didn't adjust it and said it was fine but i could tell it wasn't.

i don't have benadryl. i have meds for insomnia, and also melatonin and i take 1 insomnia med and 2 melatonin 5mg to be able to sleep. but stopped doing it.

@harmonie any reason you stopped doing it?

        • harmonie

          672d

@Mop i stopped doing it because i feel like at times it wasn't working and i also feel like i shouldn't be taking that much of it to be able to sleep. and im not entirely sure what the milligram of the insomnia meds is. but i honestly stopped taking all my meds which wasn't a good thing to do.

Honestly if it’s really bad at night I take benedryl and sleep. I also try to forgive myself for feeling like that and filter out what is realistic concern and what isn’t.
