So recently I have been dieting HARD on wegovy. It has been one of the hardest things I have done in awhile. My first month I lost 18lbs and I started my second dose a few days ago. It has been SO depressing. Normally my depression is manageable but it’s becoming almost too much for me to handle. As someone who eats for comfort having that taken away has been heartbreaking for me. I cry everyday I had to start taking my anxiety meds again because I have breakdowns every single day. I just want to eat for comfort and I can’t. It’s just been so freaking hard emotionally on me. And I know how lame it sounds to cry over a diet but when eating is something you love and feels so comforting it’s ridiculous. I’m following a very strict diet. No salt, barely any seasoning on things, veggies, no sodas or fast food, no ranch or dipping sauces, no coffees, only eat when my stomach is hungry and that’s rare since being on wegovy. I take vitamins to give me energy and get me through the days when I barely eat. Does anyone else have this problem when dieting? What helped you? I need some advice.

Hey! I relate to this so much. I'm not really sure what wegovy is but whatever it is doesn't sound like a healthy way for YOU to lose weight. We just learned in my motivation class that restrictive eating can make you more likely to binge eat (which has always been my problem). Have you tried less extreme ways of dieting? This is just not sustainable. I lost over 20lb when I started looking at food differently. The free trial for the noom app helped me a lot but was too expensive for me to keep. It taught me that it's not necessarily calorie counting and all that bs but being more mindful of what you put into your body. Like for example, what is WORTH eating. White bread has no nutrients and is not worth eating but whole wheat bread is full of yummy nutrients that help nourish your body. This mindset really helped me in picking BETTER foods, and when you feel better you do better especially when it comes to exercise and mental health. My heart breaks for you because I understand the level of comfort in food, but I don't think this is the way to deal with that as it seems very bad for your mental and probably physical health. I love you, your weight does not define your worth and your mental health should always come first. Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to! 💖

Im probably not going through the same thing as you, but I’ve been trying to stop eating at night and I found that L theanine helps me calm down in place of eating. It’s an amino acid supplement, have you tried it?
