For anyone who lives in snowy/icy places how do you deal with balance and traction?

Yak tracks or other type of chains or cleats on your shoes. Stay in the snow. You want as much friction between you and the ground as possible.

This may sound silly, but what helps me is always taking warm showers in the morning or in a pinch I will run my hands in warm water. The warmth will help you feel better especially in the cold months.
