so, I went to my pulmonologist today and he wants to run more tests again to see if my asthma is more well controlled or not, or my illness being something entirely different along with me having asthma. I’ve had the full pulmonary tests done before, but he’s adding in a muocola test (I don’t think I’ve ever had that done? not sure but I was wondering if anyone else has done it?) I’ve been an serve chronic asthmatic since the day I was born and it only got worse as I grew older. They just think wheezing is the biggest indicator but for me it isn’t, so when they say my lungs sound clear or my x-rays came back normal, I’m still quite unwell and I know this is a long time illness although it can get better with time I just wish some people would be understandable about it when I say I’m having a really hard time. I always feel like I’m not getting enough air or when there is too much air I can’t breathe.

THIS!!! Whenever I go, they say my lungs are clear and my oxygen levels are fine but I’m not able to breathe! It bothers me so much, you’re not alone 💗

It’s called the methacholine challenge test! not “muocola” sorry for my spelling mistake. I was out of it earlier

I’ve never done any testing like the ones you’ve mentioned but since I was a child I took this stuff you mix into water to help control my asthma, as I’m writing this my chest feels so tight and pressured so I might take a treatment but I’m not sure if it’ll help control my asthma overtime, I hope!

@ToadTunes do you remember what it was called? I feel like I might know but not sure entirely! I hope your asthma will be more gentler with you. take your time doing things and treatments do help to some extent 😢 I understand how you feel, you’re not alone either

@ToadTunes I’m sorry, I completely spelt the test wrong 😵‍💫 but it’s called the Methacholine challenge test! not “muocola” I don’t know where I was going with that… brain fog is heavy.

@inloveapples I just searched it and I’ve never done that, but I’ve been having trouble and might wanna look into it sometime, does it help to see what’s going on in your lungs/how well your asthma is controlled?
