I'm new so I'm not sure how this works. Does anyone know how adult people find and make new friends. In my late teens when my depression got really bad I distanced myself from most of the people I knew and no I have no friends. I don't work and I'm not in education so I don't really ever meet new people and I have always had a hard time socializing because of my adhd. Does anyone know what I can do. Love and thanks ❤️

Google some local groups in your area. I do design work (v minor) for a local green task force and have met some nice people. Next door is good for finding local groups. Google a sport or activity + your city. Even if you don't stick with the group you might find someone to get coffee with.

I know this is an old post and I'm new too but I relate a lot, due to my depression and self isolation because of that, if there's any community groups in your area or if you see a mental health professional they may also be able to recommend groups that are related to things you enjoy, I know depression can often take away the motivation to keep up with hobbies and things you enjoy, but I think maybe a community type group with people your age who experience similar mh issues might be a good option to try. It might even be worth having a look online? There's some groups at an assisted living centre that I used to stay at that I want to go to but am way too anxious lol (walking groups, guitar groups, gardening, arts n crafts etc)

I've found good friends on reddit and VRchat, the internet is full of people looking for friends

i have experienced the exact same thing. i only have one friend in my life and that’s it. i don’t work either and i rarely leave my house so it’s very hard to make friends. i’ve tried online but my adhd also makes me have a hard time keeping conversations and making friends. i unfortunately don’t have any tips but i’d love to be friends!!
