I have a laparoscopic myomectomy scheduled in a couple months. Any experiences with this? How was your recovery? And were you able to get pregnant again?

I got a laparoscopic myomectomy but I am not trying to get pregnant. I got the surgery because my symptoms were so bad and I could not handle the pain anymore. I am very happy that I got the surgery! I have been pain-free for 2 years now. My surgeon told me there was a risk that another fibroid can grow back, but it was worth it. The only problem is that I have yet to come to terms with needing a C section delivery in the future. The recovery was really only bad with pain for the first few days. The constipation was more uncomfortable for me than the pain (since surgeons will usually prescribe opioids 3-5 days post op). It was also hard to get back into my fitness routine since you can't do cardio for 1 month and weight training/heavy lifting for 6 months. For the first two weeks or so, it will hurt to bend down, so help with daily activities is great to think about (unloading/loading dishwasher, picking up things from the ground, etc). Make sure you keep walking during recovery! That is super important. Otherwise, enjoy some Netflix for the first week :)
