How do y'all deal with your hallucinations? I record them and look back later to debunk them to myself.

@Kermit143 i think its more annoying than scary when you hear voices but mine are real to me their just a piece of crap. But since i think they are real i listen to them when its really bad cause i start believing their lies and commands.

I do the exact same thing. Recordings and photos. Sometimes my boyfriend will record me having conversations with my 'friend' called Birdie and play it back to me when I'm in a good headspace (I told him to do it, because sometimes I'm not aware of what's happening). That's how I know that Birdie is a hallucination, even though he's my best friend.

Phones can be your best friend. Hearing voices ? Hit that record button and play it back to see if they're really there. Seeing something you're unsure of ? Take a pic

I write mine down and tell someone like my mom or therapist

@laceyandme I do the same. I write them down and then discuss with my therapist. I have auditory hallucinations as well so I ask mom if she's with me if she heard that if not I write it down as well. I discuss these episodes with both my psychiatrist and my therapist.

@butterfly39 yeah. I do the same. But i sometimes dont tell my mom in less they tell me something bad like go kill yourself

I'm probably not the most healthy advice but my hallucinations are all auditory. I tend to be apathetic to them. If a sound I perceive seems out of place and without context, I dismiss it. I've heard sirens, screams, glass breaking, etc. but have managed to keep my cool.

I look at things through my phone camera to see if they're really there, or take a picture and send to a friend and ask if they see x in the picture. Other than that, I try to ask myself if it would be realistic that I'm seeing x in x place, stuff like that.

It's a little weird, but the voices in my head help me. They talk me through it and help me debunk what I see, feel, or hear.

I have my caregiver check them out, I have a service dog for when my caregiver is sleeping, and sometimes I check the cameras around my house or on my phone to see if they are real. I mostly utilize my dog though.

@Deathfuffy My classmate used to occasionally take pictures with her phone to ensure the person talking to her was real. She would not hallucinate on the screen for whatever reason.

@Deathfuffy i do the same thing, with my dog... sometimes I'll hear a noise, or someone coming up the stairs, and i look at my dog to see if she hears it... if no reaction, i know I'm safe...
