Hi I’m new on alike :) I have HS and I’m on some medications but they aren’t helping much. I’m supposed to start remicade soon, has anyone had any luck with remicade? And does anyone have any tips on how to help the wounds heal faster? I know the basics like heating pads and bleach bathes and whatnot.

Topical clindamycin is one of my best friends. With that mine heal up in a matter of days. Also try wearing moisture wicking, friction reducing clothes like compression shorts to prevent giving your body any reason to freak out. Stress also makes your HS worse so if you find yourself frequently vexed by stress try finding some techniques to relieve your mind. Aquaphor and Vaseline will also help with active wounds.

My doctor suggested Clindamycin oral meds and the topical ointment can help with nasty flare-ups. They also told me using Triamcinolone ointment (or like vaseline) in sweat-prone areas can help prevent outbreaks.
I'm new here too, I have not taken or heard of remicade, let me know how it is if you try it. Loose clothing, hibiclens cleanser and bandaids/vicks vapor rub seem to help them heal faster

@Chuckie I’ve never heard of using Vicks rub! Do I just put it on the wounds?
@Halurratme yep, you can put it on when they haven't opened yet too. I'm part of a HS group on Facebook and that is a recommendation I got from them
