Does any specific diet help reduce symptoms/flare ups to hEDS? or at least what worked for you? i eat a lot of gluten but my friend with fibro said they can make the flare ups worse- but it's the easiest thing to eat when pain is bad, so I would love to know what works for you guys!

I had to cut out almost all gluten (still allow myself to eat it as a treat) and it’s definitely helped me. Also no white rice. Both give me painful bloating/horrible constipation. I also eat mostly plant based, except for fish (nothing farm raised) and avoid foods that mess with my hormones. It’s definitely more work to avoid gluten, especially when you’re crazy fatigued all the time, so I try to make food in big batches whenever I do have a burst of energy, that I can reheat for the next few days. My go-to meal that’s fairly easy and keeps well is: Red quinoa (I boil in veggie broth instead of water and it’s sooo much more flavorful) Streamed frozen veggies Sauté up some tofu (some people can’t eat soy, it actually helps me personally, you can sub for another protein) onion, garlic Throw it all into a big Tupperware and mix up Reheat as needed, and I throw a little liquid aminos (tastes like soy sauce but way less sodium, so less inflammatory) and sriracha This will give you plenty of fiber, protein, vitamins, and keeps you full.

Soy really makes me bad! I avoid it at all costs
The Low-FODMAP diet has really helped me find foods that really flare me up, could be something to ask your doctor about.
I can’t eat gluten in general, but I have been reading up on anti inflammatory diets and thinking about cutting a few more things out of my diet to see if it helps any. I understand what you mean about it being the easiest thing to eat during flare ups. I eat a lot of gluten free pretzels and graham crackers during my flares.
