So last night I got hit hard... My boyfriend and I separated. I am very emotionally, and somewhat relieved but not really? Our mental health affected the relationship... Plus, I know with college and working for me has been such a stressor along with family and personal issues... Anyways, I honestly felt like he didn't want to break up with me but he felt like he had to because he was hurting me but in reality I was genuinely worried about his well-being. He also admitted that he is avoiding everyone too... I am not sure what to do right now since he was not a bad guy at all..

That’s still super hard but I’m not as worried about you now. Phew! Keep hanging in there, deep breaths and let yourself have time to think

Fucking shit, I'm so sorry. I meant I got hit hard with my feelings/emotions. I've been having such a hard time even typing what to say. I apologize

The first thing to do is remember that you did what is best for you and this is very very important. Step 2: call a domestic violence hotline or find a counselor near you to just process some of your feelings. It is very normal to feel confused and conflicted in this type of situation Step 3: if you are genuinely concerned about his well-being and safety, contact someone close to him and inform them of your concerns and ask them to check in on him. It is not your job to care for him right now, but you can inform someone who can. 4: remember that this isn’t your fault. It is not your fault you were hit. It is not your fault that your ex is sad. It is not your fault that you two broke up. You are making the right choice right now. Message me if you need to talk.

i actually went through something similar a few years ago. Personally we took time apart while still being a support system for one another.
