how do y'all calm intrusive thoughts 💬 bc mine are really bad, and come at random times and completely kill my mood.

Acknowledging that it's just a thought can be really helpful. Like saying, I had a thought but it can't hurt me, and I won't act on it. Some times I write it out and rip it up to metaphorically get the thought out of my head

ASMR videos on YouTube literally changed my life more than any medicine... Google some! đŸ€— They're comforting/distracting/relaxing role-plays.

honestly sometimes i just tell them off *intrusive thought* “lukewarm take, nobody asked” that typa thing, helps me keep things casual while also cutting those thoughts off

I have had this happen too. It’s probably the hardest part of my anxiety. I’ve learned that a looping thought usually fades over a few days, but it’s still hard. Just know there’s an end in sight.

I play music or I just take a minute to breath

Something my therapist taught me was to take the intrusive thought and counteract it. So if the thought is "I ruin everything" counteract it with thinking about something you did right that day. Even if it is small. For instance "I got dressed today" or "I ate a meal". It helps to rewire your brain into more positive thinking

very loud music. and a clichĂ© but meditating with those thoughts and coming to terms with the fact that the thoughts you hate is just your brain trying to make sense of the world and they don’t mean anything

Intrusive thoughts are very normal. We all get them. And that’s what they are- “thoughts”. As long as we don’t act on them they are totally fine. â˜ș

I try to play a video game or watch YouTube. I fold clothes and listen to music but that’s just me. I do that while I eat because I have those quite a bit when eating.
