Does anyone else find that reading about schizo-spectrum disorders makes your symptoms worse? I'm trying to do my own research and every time I look anything up my symptoms worsen. It's incredibly distressing and annoying.

Yes i can relate to this. Had this problem when I joined support groups. Reading other people's delusions made mine worse.

So the DSM is kinda bull shit. And is based on nazi eugenics. It’s mildly helpful to group symptoms but a diagnosis is just a label. Being diagnosed schizophrenic was probably one of the worst things for my schizophrenia due to the stigma. But yea hearing things about your symptoms sometimes empowers them. I try not to research anything that could be triggering unless I know my heads on an ok enough spot for it.
