Hey Guys, I have had generalized anxiety for years. I notice whenever I start dating and get into a new relationship, I get anxiety about the relationship. I have trust issues and have fear about everything... opening up, getting hurt, getting cheated on, him talking to other girls or looking at them when we are apart. I literally feel like this with whoever I am with and I really need to let go of all of these negative feelings or I will never be happy. Can anyone relate?

Yeah I feel the same. I just assume it is because of many past relationships or when I was a terrible person and used to cheat on people. But now that I don’t I just feel anxious about the relationship a lot and feel like they might do terrible things I used to do. Talking to my partner about the things that make me anxious or telling them that I’m feeling anxious about this usually makes me feel a little bit better for a while.

Yes I can relate. Just know it isn’t as intense forever. Once you meet someone and get to know them long enough, the intensity of that feeling will decrease. And if you really get to know someone for years it becomes very very small. Once you get to connect with someone who you can pretty much tell is trustworthy and kind, I recommend you share these feelings with them when they come up
