TW for bleeding and talk of rectal things I've had rectal bleeding for about 5 months now. It usually only happens when I have a bowel movement, but sometimes, I'll not have one, then when I stand up from the toilet, it looks like maybe a shot glass worth of blood was dumped in. I have cramps after it happens, but I've always assumed it's just anxiety Two doctors now have been trying to get me in to see a colorectal surgeon, but I keep losing providers. I'm wondering if I should suck it up and just pay the fee that comes with not getting a referral instead of going through the process of getting a new PCP caught up, followed by getting the referral and seeing the surgeon I've been diagnosed with hemorrhoids, so I've wondered if that causes the bleeding, but my flare-ups come with pain, and I'm not in pain every time I bleed. I just don't know if I should be worried. My last two doctors wanted to get me checked for IBD and polyps, and I know both can be pretty serious if left untreated. I'm hoping it's just hemorrhoids, but the longer this goes on, the more worried I get I also have bowel movements anywhere from 3-6 times a day. I used to be on fiber because my medications were constipating me, but I've been off of them for a couple weeks now. I've always had extremely frequent bowel movements, with some days even reaching up to 12-14. I've been told by some doctors that 3-6 is normal, and others have said it's abnormal and I may have IBD I guess I'm just confused and hoping someone else might have some advice?

The most underrated advice that people won't put on online forums 1. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and soften the stool. 2. Eat fiber-rich foods like lentils, beans, and veggies to regulate bowel movements and reduce constipation. 3. Avoid processed foods, especially spicy and salty ones. 4. Take a daily warm bath to soothe the anal area. 5. Keep the anus clean with water after bowel movements to reduce irritation and prevent infection. 6) exercise as much as you can, at least twice a week.

It's important to consult a medical professional for your specific situation, as rectal bleeding can have various causes. Since you've been diagnosed with hemorrhoids, it could be the cause of the bleeding, but it's essential to get checked for other possibilities like IBD and polyps, as your doctors suggested. Frequent bowel movements can also indicate an underlying issue. It would be best to see a colorectal surgeon or a new PCP to get a proper evaluation and referral if necessary.
