About 15 years ago I was diagnosed with SVT (super ventricular tachycardia). It came out of nowhere it seemed. About 5 yrs later I took care of my elderly, disabled father 24/7 who was exhibiting signs of dementia. During the 4 yrs I cared for him it became extremely stressful. I had two young daughters (7 & 8), one of which has epilepsy. My SVT episodes got really bad and my cardiologist put me on meds and that helped. After my father passed away the SVT episodes stopped and I was told I could stop the meds. About once or twice a year I get a flutter in my chest but nothing like the painful pounding I experienced before. Iām grateful it has stopped. I wonāt say I donāt have any stress (who doesnāt) but not not like I did back then. Iām pretty sure the stress was the cause.
