I hate when I'm asleep when I'm supposed to be at an appointment!! I can't wake up when I want to and alarms are useless!! Any advice?

that sounds like me! I’ve always been a night owl but at the height of my chronic fatigue I was researching any possible medical reasons for it and I came across Adrenal Fatigue. Sure enough, it was adding to my poor health and throwing off my circadian rhythm. I was like a vampire. Narcoleptic by day and up all night (if I was up at all). You can get home tests for many things these days and I would personally recommend that you get a cortisol test. Get the one where you collect saliva 4 times at various time intervals. It’s more expensive but much more accurate. For what it’s worth, I use my Fitbit mostly to track my sleep cycles and I typically don’t go into deep sleep until around 6-8 am, which is one reason it’s so hard for me to wake up during “normal” hours.

what do you do when you have adrenal fatigue and will chronic fatigue just go away some day if I take care of my adrenal glands? What do I do about ADHD and being on stimulants? I need them to function.

✋set your alarm a hour early, only take half a dose of your night meds. 🙏

There’s a vibrating alarm that you put under your pillow and that helps wake me up!

Maybe telehealth visits too if you can, so you only have to wake up right before and then know you can go back to sleep after.

Try the app Alarmy. You can set a “Mission” and it won’t shut off until you’ve done that mission. I currently have mine set to give me 5 simple math problems but you can have it force you to take a picture of something (choose something you have to get out of bed to get a pic of) or scan a barcode (I had this set to my med barcode. Only alarm that works for me.

God I know this feeling so well. Ultimately I set my alarm for every five minutes about three hours before I have to get up, and then I have a second alarm that isn’t my phone, that’s across the room that goes off when I am no longer allowed to snooze.
