How do you cope with the flashbacks and anxiety of PTSD? I am constantly paranoid my partner will cheat on me, as all my exes have. There is no logic behind it. I do weekly therapy, affirmation cards, and all that.. But nothing seems to be helping the thoughts and the fear.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) saved my life. It will teach you how to build a life worth living. Ask your therapist/doctor for a referral.

Bridge statements can be super helpful. I prefer those over affirmations. Sometimes affirmations are so positive I have trouble believing them so they’re not helpful. Bridge statements can help you get from more negative thinking patterns to more positive ones by giving your brain more possibilities you can actually believe. “It’s possible my partner won’t cheat on me” is one example from your post 🤗 It’s so tough when our history backs up our fears but you’re so brave for staying positive and moving forward!

One thing that helps me is instead of trying to block certain thoughts from happening, instead try to remember to add other thoughts with them. So when u notice yourself thinking thoughts that might be paranoid, also try to remember things your partner did that shows how they are different from your exes. Both thoughts can exist at the same time.

@IndigoBro Thank you so much for the suggestion! I'll give it a shot- Maybe even make a list on my notepad on all the things he does for me!
