First surgery to drain the abscess from my anus didn't work. Went back to the hospital (which I want to mention 2 HOURS away from where I live) yesterday and they did the surgery again. But this time they had to cut me open to put a tube up in me instead of simply poking a hole like last time to make sure all the pus drains out and doesn't refill. Another few weeks of being in butt pain again. *sigh* So far for the last 5 days, it's been very uncomfortable with tubes in my anus and I drain so much that I switched to wearing adult diapers instead of taping gauze to my bottom.

I am so sorry! And I do feel your pain, had 4 anal/rectal surgeries before it was finally taken care of. The last with bowel resection so Crohn’s affected areas all removed. It is one the most embarrassing parts of this disease. I didn’t see in your post if Crohn’s is your diagnosis. One treatment at the beginning was silver nitrate (on a stick, sometimes used to stop nosebleeds), pain was horrific. I don’t think (hope) they do that anymore. I hope you can take control of your treatment- I didn’t and wish I had been more vocal.
