I just got my eviction papers yesterday a home that me and my fiancée have shared and tried to call ours is being ripped away from us after almost 4 years I'm sad to be parting from somewhere I called home, but on the other hand I am ok with a new journey in a better direction; don't get me wrong I love our house when we first moved in but now our house is literally falling apart while we're still living in it there's like 3 windows busted out from outside the house and we've come home to find them that way so someone must have tried to break in the house somehow and our toilet doesn't even work to flush properly and when it does it just goes into an empty room in the basement and sits there and it's not been flushing for almost a year now and I've been getting miserably sick but we've not been able to move with the poor jobs we've had but now we make enough money to be able to move and we have eviction court coming up soon... I am so heartbroken that our asshole of a landlord would treat us so poorly. I am so sad to see our loving home be taken from me and my fiancée and our dogs which may not be able to all go with us we have 4 and I think we are only able to bring one or 2 with us and I know it's gonna crush my fiancée. I feel my anxiety go up too it's spiked the past couple of days due to the stress of moving yet again.... I am so lost

@Allison_Tobias_929 dang. Yeah I have a pit/German shep mix and he is THE SWEETEST BEING TO GRACE THE EARTH. And is actually also training to be my service dog for PTSD episodes. People just don't get it

re:dogs, maybe you can try to arrange foster care until you are sure you’ll be able to accommodate them. I used to foster a cat while his dad was in and out of rehab, and I know your situation is very different, but I imagine you could find someone who would care for the dogs during your transition into a new place but with you retaining ownership of them. ideally nearby so that you can visit! of course animals are one of the things that can make adjustments so much easier! but if it is a lot of stress to quickly find a place where you can keep 4 dogs, that might be a good thing to look into until you reach a more stable situation.

@strawbrei I never thought to look into that but I could at least try :) I hope someone would be able to foster them but I don't know if we'd be able to retain ownership of them with the rentals here because the max is 2 dogs in the 3 surrounding cities that's the max that they will allow and some of the pet fees and pet deposits per pet are outrageous

I am so sorry. I really admire your outlook on this in terms of moving in new & better directions, but I also heavily relate to the disappointment and disillusionment when someone in a position of power chooses to abuse it and make inhumane decisions. it’s always a jab to the hope we cling to so desperately just to survive. best wishes on your new journey! gosh I hope you can keep the dogs :’)

@strawbrei thank you 🫂 I hope we can keep them too I really do but I don't think we can with some of the renters here in the area because it seems to be the growing pattern that 2 is the max we can have and most of them are ok with my dog because he's very well behaved and he is an E.S.A with service dog training underway... the thing I'm worried about with the other dogs and depending on which one we would be able to take, is the breed restrictions because the other 3 are pits/pit mix his oldest one is a full pit and the other 2 are pit mix and here where I live a lot of people have called them "the devils dog" and it's sad because they are some of the sweetest dog breeds... I just hope we can find a place that will be ok for them 💕

why can't you take all your dogs?

      • Allison_Tobias_929

@Bonjo with some of the tenant housing in my area, they are being strict on how many dogs you can take and what kind of dogs you can take... like my fiancées dogs are all pits (one is full pit the other 2 are pit mix) and mine is an American Eskimo mix and he's a registered E.S.A. and is in training as a service animal but I might be able to get at least 1 of our dogs registered as an E.S.A. for my fiancée so they would allow us to bring one more dog because generally the Max limit for renters in my area is 2
