My therapist suggested that I "set the mood" when I don't feel like doing things that absolutely need done. Music and external motivation. But I've always done this with everything. I feel like I have to set up a situation or vibe to be able to start things. If I want to clean I have to blare 90s music and have an iced coffee and candle waiting to be lit. If I'm cooking food I want to watch or listen to something I associate with it. i.e. Pizza=ninja turtles

I do that sometimes too. Like i need to listen to an hours long video while doing dishes. Or watch a specific tv show to crochet. Also music if I need an alter to front (ive got DID) cuz certain ones have specific jobs. Like one for sex and socializing, one for sleeping, or one that doesn't hold trauma.
