I am in so. much. pain. right now!!!! From my hair to my toes, my body has this INTENSE current flowing through it. I'm currently taking Effexor and Gabapentin but neither is remotely close to touching the pain. Does anyone have any tried and true methods of pain relief? #fibromyalgia #desperate #fnd #someonepleasehelp

I hated Lyrica. It didn't help me and caused my weight to go up 60 pounds. Also, I had to eat with it, even if I wasn't hungry. I far prefer my current meds.

Yes! Opioids are very addictive. I became dependent on benzos and I paid a high price. They deteriorated my brain and body šŸ˜„ I take Lyrica but Iā€™ve gained weight and it doesnā€™t help me with the pain. Iā€™m currently tapering down the dose and Iā€™m learning that it is a tricky medication. The withdraws arenā€™t fun at all.

What always works for this severe breakthrough pain for me are opioids and muscle relaxers. I utilize Tramadol, Flexeril, and Oxycodone.

@CozyVibez yeah but the opiates will be an addiction. I'm sorry but they will also tear ur body up eventually and then you will have to up your dosage every once in awhile and you'll withdraw badly if u don't have them. I'd stick with the tremadol. Withdraw from those aren't as bad. Good luck sweetie. āœŒļø

Regular acupuncture treatments help along with magnesium, cbd cream, duloxetine, tizanidine, physical therapy, and as much sleep as possible! The sleep part over time makes a huge difference for me.

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. I get trigger point injections of steroids. Every 3 months i poke around on my body and the trigger points that are the most painful get an x on them with a pen . When i go to my pain clinic appointment they five me a 1cc shot of steroids in each of the places that I chose and the pain stops. Almost immediately and stays away for almost 3 months. When the pain comes back it comes back all at once and i call to set up my next treatment. I have been getting these shots for over 10 years they allow me to work part time and being able to choose where they take the pain away is unbelievable. I mean realistically that is not something we get to control normally. I do have 2 5mg oxycodone that i have for other pain . The pain clinic gives me an epidural 1-2x a year for my back pain and it saves the life i want to live . I need a knee replacement but as a dialysis patient no one wants to work on me . In July my pain clinic did a nerve ablation basically they put pins in the nerve nodes and burned the nerves away . In june with my back and my knee i was at work at a level 8 pain and it hurt to breathe. I am a Nanny for teenagers and Cooking and cleaning up after dinner is my main reason for being there. It was torture. Both my bosses were helping me clean up after dinner because i was bever going to get done before I needed to leave for dialysis. He told me she was helping because she didn't want to lose me. I felt guilty because why have me if they were doing dishes. Anyway we did talk it through and my job is safe i am just anxious. In July I got my epidural and the nerve ablation on my knee. It is unbelievable i can accomplish things , multiple things in one day . I told my pain PA that i felt so good i had to stop and see if I was Manic. Nope just so much less pain . It is not a 100%gone but I am sure that any of us would be happy to deal with a level 2-4 pain instead of 6-10. So basically if tou can get a referral to a pain clinic so. It will make a difference. All they do is help your pain improve. But trigger point injections can be done by regular Drs . There is a ton of info on the internet look it up and talk to your dr. Also Diclofenac gel is over the counter its cold and gooey but damn it works. Voltaren gel is the brand name . There are Diclofenac pills as well. The gel is pretty immediate and focused where you need it. Sorry that this was long . I hope that some of you are able to talk with your drs about these things and if you don't have a pain clinic start looking for one unlike pcos who's hands are tied by the feds regarding narcotics, pain clinics will have you sign a contract but they can prescribe narcotics. More importantly they offer other treatments that are truly life changing. If anyone is in the Portland metro area Advanced Pain Management is where i have been seen for 14 years. They are wonderful providers

Doan's is a very good over the counter med that won't upset your stomach like aspirin. I find it gets in there deep and can help, makes achy muscles and back feel nice and loose. That and CBD help, Delta 8 strain or THC-0 work best for pain. For prescriptions Duloxitine helps with both nerve pain and depression. Hope this was helpful šŸ’•feel better soon

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain right now. I am taking no medication whatsoever for my fibromyalgia. I feel your pain though I have this feeling in my legs that I'm going to have charlie horses. I did have a really bad one the other night and my right inner thigh that is the very first time I've had one there it woke me up from asleep. Hopefully you feel better soon and get some relief. Good luck
