Hello everyone, does it also bother you an insane amount when people say “Im so OCD” or “Omg, my inner OCD is loving this!” like i can not stand it. im getting to a point where i just want to smack people who say that. OCD IS A DISORDER NOT AN ADJECTIVE.

YES!!! It’s so invalidating for people to call themselves ocd for liking to put things in color order or something like that. I would gladly trade that for my intrusive thoughts about killing my parents😐

FOR REALL, it just pisses me off to see people using the term so lightly when it really is a very stressful mental disorder. I'm fine with jokes, but some of them just.. aren't funny.

Yeah this shit is torture it keeps me up at night . Constant thinking and seeking reassurance etc. annoying af, if they had a taste of that they would shut up fast .

@Emily55 oh gosh the seeking reassurance 😬 ruins my relationships i swear no one wants OCD, i wish there was more understanding and sharing in the mental health community about it

Yes, absolutely. Real OCD is miserable and no sane person would want it.

For real! Uneducated people do that with alot of disorders and it's so upsetting.

Yeah, it bothers me so much when people say that! Especially when they think it's a good thing to have OCD. Dude, OCD is not something you want!

It’s so annoying and unnecessary and it makes us who have it seem invalid, when people find out I have ocd their like oh yeah I am too I like clean things and I’m like girl it’s so much more than that 🤦🏻‍♀️

@MissMandaBear I know!! Especially when family members or friends say it. Like I just told you I have a mental illness and your reply is “everyones a little ocd!” 🙂

one of my teachers did this constantly. i didn’t want to reveal my diagnosis, but the urge to say something strongly worded was verrryyy present

I hate it when people say that. Hate it. If they only knew what it's really like, they would think twice.

@gammarays22 I know when people say like I wish I was OCD! I wish I was clean! I always want to be like oh yeah well lets trade :) Lets see how you like it when you realize OCD isn’t lining up crayons!
