I have lots of questions. 1. Are we born with IBS. I’ve had stomach issues on and off since I was born but it didn’t get worse Neil after I had a baby. 2. Can we ever go back to eating foods like candy chocolate nuts? 3. Will it ever go away?

Last January I had a bad IBS attack that sent me to the er. I was prescribed hyoscyamine. It doesn’t always work on me. But thank you all for the response!

I’ve had issues on and off since I was a baby too. Not sure if I was born with it but it’s Definitly effected me from early on. I think it’s possible to go back to eating foods like that. My body can still handle foods. I was prescribed hyoscyamine, which helps with stomach cramps when eating those foods. I think it’s more so about knowing your body and if you’re in a relatively good period of time taking the opportunity to eat some special things and when you’re worse off sticking to the safe foods

@Bloomingalchemy60 Hi! I was just prescribed hyoscyamine, is that your preferred medication? I’m hopeful about it since nothing else has worked for me.

Hi 👋🏼 i don’t think you’re born with IBS but that being said I think there must be some sort of trait passed down. My mom and i both have gluten / lactose sensitivities and Crohn’s and celiac run on her side of the family, yet my sister was save all the digestive grief lol. That being said no one has the same problems as me, so i think environmental factors must play into it too. It’s a lifelong thing you have to cope with and adapt to but choosing the right foods and adjusting your lifestyle to accomodate your well being are the true long term solutions. I know I can’t have gluten or dairy anymore and I have a huge list of trigger foods but hey there’s a lot more worth living for than bread and chocolate! Gotta do things that make you happy first and find substitute foods that fulfill your cravings 😋 hope this helps somehow? Good luck on your journey 💕

hi and not really sure if u r born with it but my dr said that usually when u r a baby there r signs that u may develop ibs like if u had colics and usually from some ppl ive heard can get worse after having a baby and with the eating well thats also still unknown really 😅 ibs for some can eventually go away the same way those who never had it can develop it (for example me) also just to make sure if it has gotten worse it could be that u may have developed an infection that happened to me i was diagnosed with ibs and then i noticed it got worse and turns out i had a candida infection and after that it went back to my “normal ibs” symptoms
