I usually say something like “sometimes when I walk, I get super dizzy and might fall down. It’s hard to have fun when you’re scared about falling, so I use my wheelchair to help me not worry about it.” I named my wheelchair Kyla-wren as a knock of of the Star Wars character hahah I usually tell them the chairs name and refer to her as my helper I try not to go super in detail about what will happen if I fall and make it relatable for kids. Kids know how it feels to fall down but they probably don’t know a lot about being in pain or passing out. I want them to feel safe but also not try to get me out of my wheelchair.
