Long shot but hey maybe I’ll get one lead for something useful. How does someone caught their parents who are nothing but toxic benefactors of one’s life. Partially proven that some of the treatment you get now is them begrudgingly willing to pay for 1/3 of the amount you should be getting for diseases that result from their neglect of your health. The few needs I get through food, shelter, tuition, and health expenses covered I get are from them and I have nothing lined up to pay for it myself. I can’t afford to work if those needs are met but if those needs aren’t met I need to work incessantly to keep myself and my service dog alive. I don’t have a relationship outside of my parents that is actually living to provide me my needs long term until I can provide them for myself the way a nicotine patches helps a smoking addict ween off that toxic relationship. At best I qualify for Medicaid through the government unless I risk genuinely sleeping in the streets or in a shelter with my dog and me so that the government commits to getting me housing in 3 months. I might be able to survive that hell and know it’s for the better but I can’t do that to my dog as I can’t tell him the hell guarantees us housing from a non abusive source’s income. What I do have is medical evidence for my conditions and evidence of unemployment. After that all I got is the constraint that I have the most leads to build my life and career in the expensive city of NYC where I’m enrolled in uni and have the few professional connections I do have. Been told to make/save money to get trained in a certain service and have that be the most dense source of income until I can turn it into a full time business or pivot to getting paid for what I’m studying in higher ed. So yeah, that’s my dilemma right now. Any leads? I have gratitude for comments of compassion but I have my emotional validity and support for the situation with those the love me and help me in person, so really seeking practical advice mostly.
