How do I stop feeling bad about my body image

i made small clay sculptures of my body. i also studied a bit of anatomy and felt where each organ, system, whatever, was. it helped me understand that this is what i have regardless of what happens in life. even if i don’t think she’s pretty, she’s doing her best to keep me alive. every part of it is something that needs to be there. as for the sculptures, i personally liked having something physical that i made for myself, of myself. the dedication and attention to detail made me love the tiny work of art, and in turn myself. because you made that, you kept it alive and fed/watered it and it works! it’s something to be proud of.

Instead of judging yourself in the mirror. Don’t look at the bad, nobody is prefect but just look at yourself like an art piece. Look at your curves. The way your arms hang beautifully. The way your legs divot inwards. It takes a while to appreciate yourself, but it’s worth it in the long run

I really struggle with this and I find that doing things that are challenging for me and require me to push myself physically will make me appreciate what my body is capable of and take the focus off of how it looks. For me if I go hiking or do something outdoors it makes me appreciate my body more. But a lot of days it’s hard to love it even then. It’s a process.

This is a tough thing for me to help with, so I’m sorry if it isn’t helpful. For me, it helps to not look in the mirror all the time. I went on vacation and there wasn’t a good mirror there, and when I got back home I liked how I looked better because I hadn’t been looking at myself all the time. And I know this is a hard one, but it is easier for me to like how I look if I don’t compare myself to other people. I don’t really know how to stop comparing so I’m sorry about that. I’d also recommend seeing a therapist or a similar professional if you aren’t already. It can be scary to find someone and go there first, but once you find someone to talk to it is really nice. Also, in my area telehealth therapy is available so I don’t even have to go in person so that is easier for me.
