I have been having episodes of abdominal/chest pain and doctors have yet to figure out what’s wrong. This year, I’ve have 6 episodes. They start between 11:30pm and 3:30 am. 5 times it has woken me from sleep. 3 of the episodes included vomiting. Sometimes the vomiting helps relieve the pain a little bit. Episodes last 1-3 hours. Moving makes the pain worse. It’s a severe pain, mainly in the left ribs, under the breast. Sometimes the pain is also on the right side or spreads up to my chest or down to my belly. Blood work, ekgs, and chest X-ray have all been normal. Any ideas of what it might be/what I should have my doctors look into?

@Claude03 they would last anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours. id be doubled over, the pain was so bad! its hard to describe because it was years ago, but i remember it being like a burning/soreness that got so strong it felt like a sharp pain. if that makes sense? mine also only happened in the evening or late at night, because it was after i had eaten my biggest meal of the day which was dinner.

have they looked at your gallbladder? it sounds like the attacks i had with mine. usually the pain is on the right side but midsection pain can be referred all over.

@sparklebudgie I’m having a ct scan of my abdomen this week. I think that will include the gallbladder. My episode have only been at night. Did that happen with you? What kind of pain did you have? How long did your attacks last?

Are you drinking? If so? That could be it.

@Furgi I don’t drink alcohol. Not a fan of the taste and it interacts with my meds. I did have a similar kind of episode several months before the other ones that occurred after drinking, which is another reason I avoid it now.
