ive worked in a corporate office setting for the past 4 years and honestly people who have never experienced a migraine much less a complex migraine straight up do not understand. ive gotten a bad episode at work to the point where i couldnt see, stand, walk, my speech was slurred for over an hour, everyone accused me of faking. and thats the thing is people who dont get migraines just wont understand and more often than not they think youre faking to get out of work. surprisingly, covid has helped me so much in regards to work setting. being able to work from home has lessoned the frequency of my migraines (which are mostly caused by stress, skipping meals, and dehydration, all of which are caused by my work setting) just last week my company told me i have to go back to the office in april, so i quit. im not going back to frequent migraines and no one believing me, working from home has been the move for me. when the migraines do flare up i have everything i need and am able to lay down take my meds and complete the work after it passes. cant do that in an office.

If I didn’t work for myself, there is no way I would have a job. With all of my conditions, I require an extremely flexible schedule, so I’m grateful to be self employed. I teach writing classes, help students with SAT prep, and assist with college application essays.

Barely holding it together, honestly. My migraines aren't daily anymore, but when they hit, they can last a while. Longest was four days. I'm very worried about being knocked out of the workforce again.

I also am struggling with this issue. I have chronic daily complex migraines and am fighting to find a job.

If you are artsy, could always create art and or crafts and sell them online. Working for yourself is good. Or you could see a case worker and have them help you find find out what could work for you.
