I had a severe vertigo attack in 2021 which was so bad I dropped to my hands and knees then threw up. It lasted for several hours and as a result I was left with many symptoms, Chronic tinnitus Motion sensitivity Dizzy, like ive had a few beers Noise sensitivity Brain fog GP treated me for BPV, no improvement Walked into A&E, got admitted and tested for a possible stroke by having a CT scan that was negative. Referred to ENT ENT sent me an appointment with audiology with follow up appointment to follow from to discuss the results from audiology, still haven’t been given an ENT appointment. Went private and got assessed by Professor Rahul Kanegaonkar an ENT specialist. I not had a confirmed diagnosis because he wanted me to have an MRI to confirm an I didn’t have the money for a private scan. he told me he believed I had a condition called vestibular migraine. He put me on Amitriptyline and a diet that removed everything I ever loved. He did however write in the letter to my GP he felt I needed an MRI to confirm diagnosis. 2023 still waiting for appointment with ENT. Symptoms come and go, I have hearing aids now which audiology prescribed which have been a game changer to ease the tinnitus. Stopped taking Amitriptyline because of the side effects. Beginning to accept the fact that this is now me.
